AT THE START WAS HAND-BLOCKING
In the early days of Indian textiles, dyes were fragile, but through meticulous hand-block printing, artisans made patterns resilient to washing and time. Through this process, the craftsman heated and treated the wood block, making the resulting print less likely to fade and more durable on cotton.
The technique has been used for centuries to make textiles richer and more intricate, revolutionizing fabric decoration and inspiring the artisan community to create the exquisite prints that define Miss Jeevika today.
